Laura came to our home several times in the first 3 weeks after having our daughter. We’re first time parents and I’m still learning how to breastfeed. Having a lactation consultant was an absolute must for us, and we are so grateful to have found Laura because she was excellent. She’s extremely knowledgeable, patient and helpful and has gotten us so far in our breast-feeding journey that would have probably taking us months to figure out on our own (if at all). Laura was a TREMENDOUS help in helping this first time mom establish a good base for our breastfeeding journey. She is extremely knowledgeable, checked our little one for oral restrictions, gave us exercises to practice to help release some of his oral tension, and just really gave me the confidence that breastfeeding is worth it and can be done without pain and frustration. Having her come to our house in the early days of postpartum and breastfeeding was essential in our success so far. She helped me learn my breast pump and helped me come up with a plan as I prepare to go back to work. I don’t know where we would be in our breastfeeding journey without Laura’s help.

Laura went above and beyond to help my family in our early postpartum days. I went to breastfeeding classes prior to birth but faced problems once my son arrived. I found Laura through a desperate late night Google search and was able to see her the next day. I was having difficulty getting my son to latch and although we didn’t manage to breastfeed, I have now been able to exclusively pump and feed breast milk to my son since his birth 5 months ago. Laura helped us in so many ways - she identified a tongue tie for my son, helped me find my proper flange size, taught me how to deal with clogs, referred us to someone for bodywork, and showed us exercises and stretches to do for my son. As a scientist something I loved about working with Laura is that she was able to share peer-reviewed studies for all of her recommendations. Laura was so welcoming and supportive during those early postpartum weeks and checked in weekly to make sure our goals hadn’t shifted. Although my journey is different than I wanted (exclusively pumping is exhausting!) without Laura’s encouragement in those early days I would have given up on pumping and my breastfeeding journey wouldn’t still be going.
